Create an Incident

When a fire is reported, you can log it in Wildflyer in under a minute. The app captures the location, sets up weather tracking, and makes it visible to your whole team.
Start creating
Section titled “Start creating”There are two ways:
- Click the + button in the incidents panel and choose Create Incident
- Right-click anywhere on the map and select Create Incident
Both open the creation form with the map ready for you to place the fire.
Place the fire on the map
Section titled “Place the fire on the map”Click the map where the fire was reported. The app will:
- Drop a marker at that location
- Look up the nearest place name and fill in the incident name automatically (you can change it)
- Record the location with an accuracy radius
You can also draw an ignition point or perimeter for more precision.
Fill in the details
Section titled “Fill in the details”| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | Auto-filled from location — edit if needed |
| Status | Where things stand: Reported, Active, Stabilised, Controlled, or Extinguished |
| Cause | If known: natural (lightning), accidental, arson, infrastructure, or rekindle |
| Ignition time | When the fire started — defaults to now |
Click Create Incident at the bottom of the form. You’ll be taken straight to the incident detail page where you can add your team, draw perimeters, and upload photos.
- You don’t need all the details upfront — create the incident quickly with a location and name, then fill in the rest as the situation develops
